MWS Quarter Horses is owned by Mike & Sandy Walker. We are small breeders that in a very short peroid of time have produced several world
champions in IBHA, APHA, PHBA, Congress winners, and AQHA world show qualifiers. We have been on the PHBA leading breeders list for the last 8 yrs. Since acquiring our stallion Seven S Flashyzipper in 1991, we have amassed an enviable string of successes. The most notable of which is his being crowned the Versatility Champion at the 1993 All American Quarter Horse Congress by winning 3 of the 4 events and is only the second horse in history to have ever accomplished this feat. He was the highest placing horse ever in the versatility classic.
Seven S Flashyzipper is a 1988, 16.1 hand palomino stallion by Flashy Zipper by Zippo Pine Bar and out of Seven S Yellowbird. He was shown almost exclusively in Pleasure futurities and maturities winning well over $20,000. Winning is nothing new to this beautiful stallion. Besides being PHBA World Champion in 1990 he was Reserve Champion of the Texas Classic 2 year old pleasure futurity, and the Tom Powers Winter Futurity 2 year old Limited Open.
Mike and Sandy purchased "Mr Z" at the 1991 PHBA World Show and enlisted Todd Sommers to help him through the remainder of his show career. Sommers successfully guided Seven S Flashyzipper through the 1991 show season winning the Open Championship at the Solid Gold Futurities, the Tom Powers Triple Challenge and with Sandy up he won the Non-Pro at the 1991 Tom Powers Triple Challenge. Returning home to Indiana he finished the 1991 season by winning the IQHA Championship in the Non-Pro 3 year old and Reserve Champion in the Open 3 year old division. He was shown exclusively at the QH Futurities to amass winnings of over $20,000.
In 1992 he stood to a few select mares and was returned to the capable hands of Todd Sommers to be shown in the coming Maturities. Todd rode "Mr Z" to a Reserve Championship at the Solid Gold Futurities and a 9th place in a very large maturity class at the 26th All American Quarter Horse Congress.
From that first foal crop there were eight babies with one being a congress finalist, one PHBA World Champion, one PHBA Res World champion, two others AQHA pt earners, and one PHBA Supreme Champion!!!!
After his win in 1993 at the All American Quarter Horse Congress, " Mr Z" was retired to the stud barn. He is one of a very few stallions in the country to have won championships and then sired champions. He has sired 45 World & Reserve World Champions in IBHA, PHBA, Pinto and APHA. He has had offspring on the Honor Rolls of NSBA, AQHA, IBHA, PHBA, & APHA. They have amassed 2730 AQHA pts (excluding novice) with a total of 358 foals, over 45,000 in AQHA incentive fund, over 40,000 NSBA earnings, and over 40,000 PHBA points earned. He only has a total of 26 APHA registered foals, with 3 world & Res World Champions, they have amassed a total of over 2800 pts in APHA shows. He was the Leading Sire in PHBA for 98,99,2000, 2001 and was the leading Performance sire on the PHBA list in 2002,2003,2004,2005,& 2006. He earned the title of AQHA 2001 Leading PHBA Sire, first horse to ever receive this award from AQHA. He is on 4 all time Stallion Offspring Lifetime Pleasure Earnings list according to QHD.com. "Mr Z" has 358 foals registered with AQHA of which 178 are performers ( as of 8/19/2007) that is over 1/3 of his offspring are AQHA pt earners!!!! All this success has earned him the title " Some Horses are champions but very few have sired champions"!!!! "Mr Z" truly is a champion among champions.
We are very excited about our young stud MWS Ima Flashyzipper. He is by Seven S Flashyzipper and out of the great mare Miss Special Lee. Miss Special Lee has produced 7 foals by Seven S Flashyzipper all of which are show horses. They have amassed several congress, AQHA, NSBA, and PHBA wins. She has a very stong mare line with all her daughters being producers of show winners. Contact us for her dam record. “Frampton" is a 3 x PHBA world champion, and an AQHA and NSBA pt earner. He was has been retired to the stud barn in 2004.
We invite you to call, phone or email us about any offspring, that we have or someone else may have, that is for sale. You are welcome to visit us anytime here in Pendleton, Indiana or give us a call at 765-631-0898. Farm Manager Trey Cochran, Mike or Sandy Walker are always glad to show you around and just chat about all the great horses we have here at the farm. All of our mares are AQHA pt earners or producers. We believe in the old philosphy "breed the best to the best and get the best".
